Build It and They Will Come
Yukon Suspension Bridge: entry fee to cross the bridge $18.50 each.
I listened to the gal trying to sell Tom the entry tickets and said “I don’t think so Tom, $37.00 to walk across a bridge to see what we can see from the side of the road for free it outrageous,” but build it and they will come and they did by the bus loads from the cruise ships all standing on the bridge looking down and across at the magnificent scenery of British Columbia (BC) yep it is not even in the Yukon.
We planned to drive down the Cassiar road south through the center of BC. We stopped for lunch at Nugget City Bakery and Gas Station just before the turn off onto Cassiar. As I walked into the bakery I was attacked by a sparrow and glancing upwards I was treated to the sight of 3 tiny swallows mouths wide open waiting to be fed I had obviously interrupted their dinner.
We turned south and were immediately stopped by an official to tell us the road had been closed since yesterday because of a large forest fire and the road would perhaps not be opened for several days. Oh well, we just had to change our route and return back to the Alaska Highway and head back to Alberta the same route we came. We camped again at Lairds Hotsprings and this time I found my bathing suit so was able to enjoy a soak in the extremely hot Hotsprings ah life is good well that is except for the horse flies that seemed to enjoy nibbling on me.

oh dear I don’t even know a swallow from a sparrow I have corrected it thanks
Dear Janet, these are not sparrows, they are swallows. Can’t tell if they are barn swallows or cliff swallows but they all build their nests with mud balls.
